Hello World!

I just wanted EVERYONE to know that Frizzy, the S.A.D. Elf, is now out there on the internet!

Shayne Hood finished all my pictures, and Deedy (Dorothea Jensen to you) has done what she calls the Format Fight, and my story is now a Kindle book. The print version will be available VERY SOON (maybe tomorrow, Deedy says).

Anyway, here is my OFFICIAL COVER. (Just so you know, I look MUCH happier by the time this story ends, which I'm happy to say it is ALL TRUE!  ♡♡♡  Frizzy

You can buy this Kindle via Deedy's website, http://www.dorotheajensen.com

Frizzy.

Frizzy's Story is Done!!

I have such exciting news!  The story that Deedy (Dorothea Jensen to the World) has written down about me is finished.  She called it Frizzy, the S.A.D. Elf.  (Dizzy told me that S.A.D. means "Seasonal Affection Distress", which is how I feel every Christmas when Santa takes away my beautiful dollies in order to deliver them to little girls.)  Dizzy helps me figure out something new to work on that I won't love and therefore miss terribly when they go.  Everything works out, but not in the way that I thought it would.

Pictures are showing up on Deedy's computer from somebody named Shayne Hood. It's like magic!  They have all been drawn, and we are just waiting for them to be colored in.  Then, watch out, world!  You'll have a brand new Izzy Elf story to enjoy.

Here is a just a tiny preview from Shayne:

This is how I look at the beginning of my story. I look MUCH happier later on!

Love,

Frizzy

Another Prize for Deedy!

So I know this is our Very Own ElfBlog, and most things we talk about here are about us Izzy elves, but I wanted to let you all know that our Deedy (Dorothea Jensen to people who don't know her as well as we do) has won ANOTHER book award!

This was for a L-O-N-G story she wrote a L-O-N-G time ago! It's called The Riddle of Penncroft Farm and everyone in it has strange, round ears. This year is its Silver Anniversary - that's how old it is.  Kids has been reading this story all over the place for twenty five years. It won awards when it first came out, but this is a brand new award.  Hurray.

The Riddle of Penncroft Farm
2014 1st Prize in Historical Fiction

But there's even more NON-elf news.  Deedy has finished writing another L-O-N-G story called A Buss From Lafayette.   Watch for it!

Hurray again!

Love,
Tizzy

Don't want to be a sore winner, but....

Remember when Tizzy and Blizzy kept wearing Mom's Choice Award emblems on their hats?  I must admit I was very jealous of them then.  But now I have something special to wear, myself!  Here I am, sporting my Story Monster Approved emblem on my kerchief.  Pret-ty cool!  (It's all because the story about me, Dizzy, the Stowaway Elf, has been Story Monster Approved. Hooray!)

Only one slight problem, every time Frizzy sees me, she stares at the SMA emblem and sighs over how "cute" the so-called Story Monster is!  She used to tell me how beautiful my blue eyes are, and now all she talks about is the Story Monster.

I thought I was happy that I got some recognition like Tizzy and Blizzy did, but now that Frizzy hardly "recognizes" me, I'm not so sure!  (Just kidding.  I'm thrilled the Story Monster likes my story.  I just hope he doesn't like Frizzy, too!)

Love,

Dizzy

Story Monster Approved!!!!

I'm so excited, I can hardly blog!!

Yesterday I found out that the story about me, Dizzy, the Stowaway Elf, has been "Story Monster Approved".  I am very flattered, because both grown-up judges and kids had to read it decide if it met the Story Monster's standards.

And it did!

Here is the Extremely Cool Emblem that I can now exhibit on my book cover!
(Not quite sure where it would fit, but I hope to figure it out soon.)

My only problem: it appears that Frizzy (my favorite elf) thinks that this Story Monster is mighty cute and is interested in meeting him.  He is attractive and all, but I'd rather that Frizzy doesn't think so.

What should I do about this?

Love,
Dizzy

Bizzy Says Kids Love My New Toy!!

Bizzy came by my workspot today to give me the latest marketing reports on what I've been making. Pret-ty Amazing Results!

Bizzy explained it to me: from now on, Santa is not going to rely ONLY on the  letters that kids write him just before Christmas.  (He likes as much lead time as possible so we elves can make sure there are enough of each kind of toy to go around.)

Anyway, Santa found out that there are special Wishlists out there in something called Cyberspace.  Apparently, all year long, when children see something they would like Santa to bring them, they ask their folks to add it to one of these Wishlists.

As soon as S.C. heard about this, he assigned Bizzy to start doing research.  Now, whenever a new toy is created by us elves, Santa posts it all over Cyberspace.  Bizzy then tracks how many kids add that toy to a Wishlist. Slick, huh? (S.C. is very 21st Century.)

Bizzy is very excited about his new task, and the rest of us Izzies are thrilled that he has something else to do besides trying to boss us around!

The Bottom Line (as Bizzy says) is that kids are scrambling to put my new toys on every single one of their Wishlists.  Hurray!!

Frankly, I'm not sure what kids see in these things: I think they are a little bit ugly, myself.  (I've been in the Beautifying Business for so long, it feels a bit odd to make something that I don't think is beautiful AT ALL.)  Oh well, the good thing is that I won't mind a bit when Santa takes all these toys away for delivery next Christmas.  No more S.A.D. for me!!!

Love,
Frizzy

What a Thrilling Time I'm Having!

Santa agreed I can change jobs and I'm hard at work in my New Endeavor! I didn't tell him the reason I wanted a change.  None of us Izzy Elves likes to make S.C. sad because we love him so much.  Besides, he's much more fun when he's jolly.  We don't like to hurt his feelings by letting him know we are unhappy.  So I just told him I wanted a change, and that was fine with him.  Goodbye dollies!

I'm not going to tell you what I am making these days, but you won't guess in a million years!  It is a bit of adjustment to be painting lightning bolts and flames and (even) skulls instead of curling and braiding dolly coiffures!

But so far, I haven't gotten the LEAST BIT attached to these new toys, and I am quite sure that I won't be upset when they are loaded onto Santa's sleigh.  No more S.A.D. for me! (That's Seasonal Affection Distress, in case you're wondering.  Dizzy called it a Disorder, but I prefer the word Distress, FYI.)

Meanwhile, Bizzy is hard at work doing something called Market Research on the toys I am making. I hope that kids like what I'm doing!  I'll keep you posted!

Love,

Frizzy
