On the Air: What fun!

Here's Deedy again. Wish she'd let us have our blog back! (Although we think she might have mentioned us on the air. Then all is forgiven.)

Love, the Izzy Elves

Last night I went down to Boston to talk about A Buss from Lafayette (mostly) on WEMF Radio.  It was great fun to chat with Gina House and Max Bowen. The broadcast was recorded and will be available as a podcast this weekend. I'll keep you posted.

Here we are after the broadcast. We were trying to point at the word "more" on the poster, as I fell under that category (as opposed to "music" and "movies.")

Deedy's Going on the Radio! (Wish she would take us with her.)

Deedy (that's Dorothea Jensen to you) is going to talk on the radio this Thursday. Unfortunately, she won't be talking about us Izzy Elves, but about Her Other Kind of Writing. Sigh.

She told us how to listen in. We hope you do, too.

Love,

A MESSAGE FROM DEEDY

This Thursday, May 12, I will be interviewed at 8:30 pm on a Boston radio program called Citywide Blackout.  Broadcast on WEMF radio, Citywide Blackout “spotlights the independent art scene of New England.” To listen LIVE go to http://wemfradio.com (go to the upper left where it says, “LISTEN NOW” in orange). Listeners can ask questions while I'm on the air via the following two sites: Citywide Blackout Facebook and Citywide Blackout Twitter.

I've done many radio interviews, but it's been quite awhile since the last one. I guess I'll just do what I always do: chat with someone interesting and try to ignore the fact that many, many others are "eavesdropping!"

The best part is that since it is an audio rather than a video kind of thing, I don't have to wear my costume. It's beautiful but not all that comfortable, even though no corsets are involved. (No wonder Clara resists dressing this way.)

The interview will be posted as a podcast a few days after the broadcast.

Hope you'll tune in!

Cheers,

Dorothea

Ok, ok. We finally officially handed over our blog to Deedy. For now.

We Izzies are still letting Deedy (that's Dorothea Jensen to you) post all her Historical Fiction Stuff on our website. Bear with us. We'll be back later on to talk about her Real Writing - about US!!

Love,

Bizzy, Blizzy, Dizzy, Fizzy, Frizzy, Quizzy, Tizzy, and Whizzy.

The Izzies' Sibling Rivalry Thing

As we told you before, we are letting Deedy (Dorothea Jensen to you) take over our blog for awhile to talk about her OTHER kind of writing. We're not happy about that but there's not much we can do about it  Here's the latest on her new book, A Buss from Lafaeytte.

* * *

I am delighted to report that even though it has not yet been released (ONLY 14 days to go!) A Buss from Lafayette has been getting some reviews!

Here's the latest one, from Goodreads.com:

Readnride rated it: really liked it

"As a fan of The Riddle of Penncroft Farm, I was hoping A Buss From Lafayette would be as good, and it is! The characters really came to life for me and the story moved along at a good pace. The heroine, Clara, has some of the same issues as girls of today, even though she’s living almost 200 years ago! Historical fiction fans will enjoy this book, especially as it was based upon a real historical event, General Lafayette’s visit to New Hampshire. I found the glossary helpful and informative. Read it...You'll be glad you did!"

That review definitely made my day, although I hope that doesn't irritate the Izzy Elves. They have some sort of sibling rivalry thing going on with my historical fiction. Can't understand why.

Regards

Dorothea

More Buss Stuff (but Frizzy is in there, too)

(As we Izzies explained in our last post, we are allowing Deedy - Dorothea Jensen to you - to post stuff here. For the Time Being.) Here she is now:

Thank you, Izzies. I appreciate your (mostly) cheerful forbearance and I do promise you'll get your blog back soon.

Meanwhile, looking at this picture of Frizzy holding my new historical novel for kids, A Buss from Lafayette, has made me remember that I wrote both Frizzy's story (Frizzy, the S.A.D. Elf) and Buss AT THE EXACT SAME TIME.

It wasn't until I finished 'em that it struck me that both my heroines were redheads! Just shows me what happens when I concentrate.

So I've had a buy link for Frizzy, the S.A.D. Elf over there on the right for a long time.  I'm sure she won't mind that I am adding buy links for fellow redhead Clara's story. Not sure about the other Izzy Elves but they'll just have to lump it.

In any case, I have put all the buy links for ordering A Buss from Lafayette up there on the right.

Just for good measure, I'm putting them right here on this post, too!

Order Buss from BQB Publishing

Order Buss from Amazon (print and Kindle)

Order Buss from Barnes and Noble (print and Nook)

Order Buss from Kobo (e-book only)

(It is also available as an iBook but I can't figure out how to do a link to that so you iBookers are on your own.)

Cheers,

Deedy

And Now for Something Completely Different. . .

So some of you may know that during December, Deedy, (that's Dorothea Jensen to you) allowed us Izzy Elves to post just about every day on her "non-elf blog" located here. You might also know that Dorothea has not been paying any attention to us Izzies AT ALL since Christmas. Apparently it is because she is TOTALLY OBSESSED by her Other Kind Of Writing (inferior stuff which doesn't even RHYME, or so we understand). To add insult to, well -  you know what - when we finally did hear from her, it was only to get our permission for her to post stuff about her OKOW (which still doesn't even rhyme) here on our Izzy Elf blog.

We have grudgingly agreed. So for the next couple of months, we won't be writing posts here DIRECTLY for all you lovely followers.

Deedy will be Taking Over this blog until further notice. She has promised 1) she will write another Izzy Elf story soon and 2) she will let us start writing our own stuff again this summer.

For now, She has asked us to tell you that some copies of her new historical novel for middle graders, A Buss from Lafayette, which will be released on April 22, are being given away on Goodreads.  Here's the link if you want to sign up for a chance to win a copy:

Hope to be back talking to you soon!

Grudgingly,

The Izzy Elves

A Word from Our Sponsor (sort of)

Deedy (that's Dorothea Jensen to you) allowed us to post lots of stuff on her twitter and blog before Christmas, so we're returning the favor by allowing her to post something here on our Izzy Elves Blog.

Here it is:
